These programs were run by the villages of South Barrington and Fox River Grove, Cuba Township Road District, Barrington Park District, Barrington Area Library, Lake County Forest Preserve, Volo Bog, and Citizens for Conservation. All are members of the greater Barrington and Lake Zurich area’s Leave No Child Inside initiative.
A special note: June was just the beginning! More Leave No Child Inside activities are being offered throughout the summer. | Local LNCI location makes top ten parks in USA |
Supporters of the Volo Bog State Natural Area in Ingleside not only are a tight bunch but a vocal one, it turns out. Maybe not in the traditional sense of yelling from the rooftop. But in the age of social media, their "voices" were loud enough to land Volo Bog in the Top 10 nationally of favorite parks. |

Area children and their caregivers enjoyed lots fun-filled, outdoor, nature-related activities. In celebration of June as Leave No Child Inside Month, many local organizations provided these wonderful adventures including nature hikes, star-gazing, camping and campfires, Native American song and dance, nature yoga, outdoor story hours and concerts, birding, and vegetable gardening.
